Having covered an intro to fundraising in a previous article titled “Fundraising Made Easy”, here we will address leadership as well as different types of successful fundraising campaigns It never ceases to amaze that no matter what I advise leaders to do, they will mostly want to do it their own way anyway

Having studied many thousands of organizations over the years, I have come to expect that the testosterone levels in men and estrogen in women simply dictate that they have a “better” way Or, they simply choose to ignore what they MUST DO to make the project successful If you follow the steps I’ll outline, your returns will be maximized Miss some steps and you will certainly feel and see the results

Every successful campaign that I have ever reviewed or organized was the result of someone assuming a leadership role Without effective leadership your campaign is a ship without a rudder If you aren’t the rah-rah type that is perfectly ok Not that many folks are However, that certainly doesn’t mean you can’t be an effective leader If this is your first time to organize a fund raiser and lead it to a successful conclusion, good for you At least you aren’t sitting back waiting for something to happen You want to make it happen This article should help immensely with helping you succeed

No matter what type of fund raiser you would like to conduct, the members of your organization will help if you simply ask for it DO NOT try doing everything your self Your job is to oversee the project, assign tasks to volunteers, check on their progress, encourage them to help the organization through the efforts and praise them for what they are accomplishing Upon completion recognize EVERYONE that participated Remember, one of our basic needs is for recognition You simply cannot give enough of it out Remember, you will most likely be dealing with “volunteers”, not paid help
